A blurry picture of the top of a hill

Brinkman did extensive research for his paintings, getting details for historical accuracy for all his work. He also studied photographs of wildlife and whenever possible he looked for the animals or birds in nature or at zoos or refuges. He sketched on site and then completed the work in the studio.
